ABBEVILLE 
                    – A series of crawfish production meetings sponsored 
                    by the LSU AgCenter will provide information to help farmers.
                  Crawfish 
                    researchers and extension specialists will present information 
                    on topics such as economical and efficient pumping, production 
                    economics and pond management. They will also update producers 
                    on the white spot syndrome virus that was found in some ponds 
                    during 2007.
                  The meetings 
                    will include a question-and-answer session for farmers to 
                    get information about their farming practices.
                  The first 
                    meeting will be in Abbeville at 6 p.m., Feb. 19, at the Vermilion 
                    Parish Extension Office at 1105 W. Port St.
                  The next 
                    meeting will be held in Winnfield at 1 p.m., Feb. 20, at the 
                    Winn Parish Extension Office at 119 W. Main St.
                  Two meetings 
                    will be held on Feb. 21. The first will be in Jennings at 
                    1 p.m. at the Jefferson Davis Parish Extension Office in Jennings, 
                    1006 Lake Arthur Ave., and then in Breaux Bridge at 6 p.m. 
                    at the St. Martin Parish Extension Office at 114 Courthouse 
                    St.
                  The final 
                    sessions will be Feb. 28, with the first in Avoyelles Parish 
                    at 9 a.m. at the Agriliance office at 12265 La. 1 near Hamburg, 
                    and the last one will be in Ville Platte at 6 p.m. at the 
                    Evangeline Parish Extension Office, 230 Court St.
