First Meeting of the Wild-Caught Crawfish Task Force

The first meeting of the Wild-Caught Crawfish Task Force will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, 2005 in the Louisiana Room of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) headquarters building. LDWF headquarters is located at 2000 Quail Drive in Baton Rouge. The meeting is open to the public.

The task force was established within LDWF by House Concurrent Resolution No. 85, authored by Representatives Jack Smith and Karen St. Germain. The purpose of the task force is to advise LDWF on matters pertaining to the management, marketing and development of the wild-caught crawfish industry in Louisiana. The first meeting will be organizational in nature and will be concerned mainly with selecting a chairman, establishing operating procedures and discussing goals and objectives.
